Steroid cycles describe an individual’s duration of steroid use. On average, steroid cycles are good for 6 to 12 weeks and after one cycle you need to take a break called an “off cycle”. The off cycle is good for 10 to 12 weeks and can be considered part of the steroid cycle itself. This ensures that you won’t experience severe side effects for a very long time. These cycles also ensure that you won’t become very dependent on steroids for body building purposes and to achieve a stronger body.
A safe cycle
According to studies, you should have 2 steroid cycles in a year so your body can maintain its natural hormonal levels that are needed for better health. Furthermore, your body also needs time to recover from any side effects caused by steroid use. Remember that overusing steroids can render them ineffective for longer periods of time because your body will get used to them and will be non-responsive to treatment.steroidcycles
Short versus long cycles
Some studies showed results that shorter cycles are better than longer ones. Shorter cycles are good for 1 and a half to 2 months. When a cycle lasts for more than 2 months, your body’s receptor sites tend to become over-stimulated so chances are, they will stop responding to steroids, prompting you to take more. Remember that steroids are drugs that can make you dependent or addicted to them if misused. This can lead to an unstable and unhealthy body. Taking steroids in very large doses is also more dangerous to your health.
You need to make sure that you have the right cycle for your needs. Otherwise, you are going to be at risk for failure and experience more side effects like the following:
• Susceptibility to acne
• Increase in cholesterol levels
• Hair loss that can lead to baldness
• High blood pressure
• Liver damage caused by high does
• Prostate cancer.
